About Us
Little Moments....Big Magic, is what Big Brothers Big Sisters is all about. It’s about doing the small important things like spending quality one-on-one time with a child, talking, studying, going shopping or to the movies, and providing that child with a person they can trust, look forward to seeing each week, and who they know is there for them no matter what, that leads to changes in major areas. Major areas include grades, behavior, a sense of the future, a positive healthy outlook on life. By providing those Little Moments, you are making a Big difference in a child’s life.

We know this because each year we conduct a program evaluation where we ask parents and teachers to give us feedback on the changes in the youth we are serving. During the 2006-2007 school year, according to teachers surveys returned, 75% of our youth made a C or better on their year end report cards. Once a child was matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister, 65% improved in at least 2 or more subjects within the first 3 months. Confidence, Competence, and Caring are the other areas we focus on. According to teachers 82% of those youth improved in Confidence, 81% in Competence, and 80% in Caring. Little Moments....Big Magic!!!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont is an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of
America. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America chartered our agency in 1979 to serve youth from the Greater High Point
Community. It is our mission to help children reach their full potential through professionally supported, one-to-one
relationships with measurable impact. We do this by placing a positive mentor in the lives of our youth who spend on
average 2-5 hours a week for at least one year working with a child.
