On Thursday, October 27, 2016 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Piedmont hosted the Little Moments luncheon at Revolution Mill Event Center. Community partners and supporters of the organization gathered to enjoy lunch and hear inspiring stories about how the program has impacted lives of countless Littles and Bigs alike from parents and volunteers. Darrin Smith, two time NCAA National Champion and two time Super Bowl Champion, shared his involvement in the organization as a Little and the impact having a Big Brother had on his life and career choices and successes.
At the luncheon Little of the Year was presented to Christopher. Big Brother Paul presented Chris with the award. Paul shared stories about what the match has done together since being paired in February 2012. He shared how impactful their relationship has been in both of their lives and that he has received so much more than he thought was ever possible from being a Big Brother. Chris was surprised with the award and his mother, Lesleigh was present to see him receive it.
